I was expecting this to be a tobacco cologne, but the vanilla notes are waay too dominant in this recipe, giving it a sugary sweet finish. I wanted the wood notes ,the leather, the burnt notes of a tobacco. Not sweet vanilla. I mean, it might work for Summer, it does smell like a subtle hawaiian tanning oil. A tad disappointed.

A Very Sophisticated, Masculine Fragrance

I found out about Santa Maria Novella from watching Rajiv Surendra's YouTube channel. After perusing your site I chose Tabacco Toscano as my first scent from this house and I'm glad I did. Despite reports on sites like Base Notes about short longevity and mediocre projection I found it works well with me—two squirts lasting all day into the evening. Tabacco Toscano isn't the run of the mill modern-day ostentatious scent that will overwhelm a room but, rather, a warm and complex one that continues to evolve as you wear it. A strong note of vanilla in the beginning gives way to leather and tobacco finally settling into cedar and musk. This reminds me of something Lelabo would produce only this smells more natural and sophisticated. If you're new to Santa Maria Novella this scent is a good place to begin your journey.

Finalmente trovato!

Erano anni che cercavo un tabacco vaniglia con forte impronta cuoiata e finalmente l' ho trovato. Non il solito prodotto "chimico", ma tanta naturalezza e si percepisce una cura negli ingredienti ben sopra la media. Qualità del tabacco eccezionale, note di cuoio persistenti che a mio parere si mescolano a quelle di fondo rendendolo meno dolce rispetto ai classici tabacco e vaniglia, dandogli un tocco di mascolinità superiore. E la durata è impressionante: con un paio di spruzzate vado avanti fino a sera. Ho dovuto consultare, quasi casualmente, un' esperta del settore per "scoprirlo" e mi sa che dovrò ringraziarla parecchio. 5 stelle meritatissime.
